Our Efforts in Africa

Meetings with the African Union

In May 2010, we were invited to met with the leaders of the African Union, and an official from the Liberian Government Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We discussed work with the families of missing persons from armed conflicts, the social, economic, and legal needs of these families, as well as human rights concerns.

In August 2010, IFFAMPAC held a series of successful meetings in Addis Ababa with representatives of the African Union, ambassadors and government officials. The governments of Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Liberia, Angola, and the State of Palestine met with IFFAMPAC independently to discuss our work, to address economic, social, and legal issues confronting such families in their respective countries.

By empowering families to heal, and rebuild, they become pillars of socio-economic development, and catalysts for sustainable peace.
